Miracle of Life

"Dogs are miracles with paws."
~Attributed to Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy

Some say miracles don't exist. Miracles affect our lives daily. They are all around; sometimes we see them and sometimes we don't. The miracles of birth are always something that we can thank God for, whether it be human or animal, the moment something is born it goes from being in water to breathing air, a true miracle in the process. The babies above are true miracles. Their mother was very sick while carrying them and almost died giving birth to them. Being English Bulldog, she had several problems. She ended up with pregnancy diabetes and she couldn't maintain the right levels of calcium in her body. During her C-section, she had a reaction to the anesthetic and that caused her to seizure. She turned out to be a great mother to her babies and loved them dearly; she babied them even after they were a year old.

English Bulldogs are not able to breed naturally, nor are they able to give birth naturally. An English Bulldog gives birth by way of cesarean. She has no way of knowing how many babies she has, because she is not able to go through the normal birthing process as other dogs. When she starts to wake from surgery, her little miracles are waiting for her in an incubator. As her babies start to cry and she hears them, she immediately knows babies. When the babies are given to her, she starts by nudging each one and then starts to clean and nurture them as if they were born by normal means. How does she know those babies crying in the incubator are her's? She has just undergone major surgery and is not completely coherent, but wants to see her babies. How is it possible for her to know that she isn't pregnant anymore and that the surgery was to deliver her babies? Is it instinctual or do they know more about how their babies are born than we realize? It's an experience that we humans won't ever be able to understand.

God has given our dog companion knowledge that is beyond us. Just as these babies are born and many others everyday, we hope for miracles to come our way. We want God to grant us miracles in our finances, our jobs, our relationships, etc. Sometimes what we don't realize is that miracles are happening. We don't recognize them because its not the miracle that we were looking for. Some might say, "it's a miracle that I wake in the morning" or "that it's a miracle that I am still here (on earth)." God has a special purpose for each and every one of us and it's truly no miracle that we are here on earth. We are are here by Gods will. And, since we are here, God has given us a special gift; the greatest miracle of all, Jesus Christ! Jesus is all of mankind's miracle of birth. In John 4:24-26, 24, God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." 25, The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us." 26, Then Jesus declared, "I who speak to you am he." Jesus is our way to the miracles of everyday life; he can bring forth miracles that otherwise wouldn't exist. But, we have to open our hearts and allow Jesus the opportunity to work miracles in our lives. Miracles do happen and they happen when you least expect them, and the best way to bring miracles into your life is to live in the word of God. And, the way to do that is to follow Jesus. In John 14:6, Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. Jesus doesn't ask much of us, but he does ask that we love him and ask him to be our Lord and Savior. If you ask Jesus into your heart, he will be your miracle of life and he take you places you have never been before. Just like the miracle of birth, no one can truly explain how babies go from water in the womb to breathing air as they are born. Even scientifically, there is no way to explain how a baby takes its first breathe as it emerges from its mother. So if God can give us the breathe of life, can you imagine what he could do in your life on a daily basis.
